DEEPEST SOLAR – POWERED BOREHOLE IN EAST AND CENTRAL AFRICA
The first of its kind project has a borehole depth of 446m, roughly 280m above the average borehole size in the country and water temperatures of above 60°C. The pump and its 3-phase motor and supportive administrative, residential and production facilities are powered by an off-grid solar PV storage system.
Sustainable Practices: Lessons from Hotel 67
Hotel 67, a premium hotel whose aim is to offer comfort and value at its best, has joined the ranks of those mitigating negative environmental impact by commissioning the installation of solar energy to aid in sustainability. The 90,000 kWh plant by Safi Power will see over 500 tonnes of CO2 reduction in the course of its operation.
Coca-Cola's Coastal Bottlers goes solar
In 2019, Coastal Bottlers contracted Safi Power to improve on energy management and environmental conservation. We installed a phased grid tied solar power system to reduce cost of daytime power and would finalize the whole plant by 2021. The initial final installation size will be approximately 1.2Mw against a long-term contract after the necessary approvals.
Ponty Pridd Transport and Logistics: Embracing the future with solar power
Ponty Pridd, a professtional transport and logistics company, has been in operations for 12 years. Safi Power installed a grid tied solar power installation to substantially reduce daytime power costs at Ponty Pridd's headquarters and logistics center. The plant capacity would be approximately 500,000 kWh over its lifetime.
Njoro Canning reduces their carbon footprint
Based in Nakuru, the food processing company specializes in canned, frozen and dehydrated vegetables, spices, jams, desserts, relishes and pickles. Safi Power has handed over phase I of the Njoro Canning Solar Power installation which has a plant capacity of 900 kWh.
Safi Power partners with Jinko Solar
One of Safi Power’s goals is offer reduction of costs by promotion of renewable resources. This entails looking out for the most efficient technology for our clients. Safi Power has taken on a bulk consignment with Jinko Solar that will see Jinko supply high quality photo voltaic solar modules to Safi Power for upcoming projects.
Histoto invests in Safi Power
Histoto Limited, a continental power and infrastructure company has signed an agreement to make a strategic investment in Safi Power. This investment provides Safi Power access to Histoto’s extensive experience as Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners and thus support its expansion into the Eastern Africa region.
Sky Foods Limited goes green with solar
Sky Foods is a soft drink manufacturer that produces the popular TreeTop juice and currently has a machine capacity of 19,500 litres per day. Safi Power was contracted to design, build, and operate a solar facility that would supply power to the manufacturing entity over a period of 20 years. The approximate 100KW project will see Sky Foods realize a saving of approximately 33,739 KWh and 316 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the life of the plant.
